JOB SUMMARY:
Secretaries shall be responsible for routine secretarial and clerical duties of a specialized nature required to support the police department.  Duties follow well-established guidelines, methods and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Ability to work for extended periods of time in a smoke free workplace.                                                                               2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access.
3. Proficiency in basic accounting and budgeting practices.
4. Perform all duties in a professional, proficient and pleasant manner.
5. Must have the ability to learn and quickly become proficient in specific programs unique to assignment.
6. Able to lift up to 30 pounds.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Must be 21 years of age.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Pass written general knowledge and spelling exam.
Type 40 wpm using department's typing skills evaluation program with 90% accuracy.
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs.
